Breaded Cajun Shrimp

These cajun shrimp are inspired by the flavours of southern america and are so easy to make - perfect for serving up as a starter or with rice, veg or fries as a quick delicious dinner!

We pair this with a zesty cajun dipping sauce - but it can be paired with any sauce you like.

We cook these in the air fryer which saves on cooking time & calories but does NOT scrimp on flavour - and even better, its GLUTEN FREE!

Try using this coating for chicken, fish, or even vegetables such as courgette, or even corn!

Ingredients

For the shrimp

12 large raw shrimp / prawns - peeled

1 egg - beaten

1tsp lemon zest

oil spray or

For the Dipping Sauce

4tbsp mayonnaise

1tsp lemon zest & juice

Method

  1. Mix together the ingredients for the dipping sauce, adding a little milk if you prefer a thinner consistency, adjusting to your taste with salt - set aside.

  2. Add the beaten egg to a bowl or dish, and the Cajun coater & lemon zest to a separate dish, dip the shrimp into the egg, then into the coating mix, repeat if necessary until all shrimp are coated.
