Chinese Chicken Balls

A takeaway favourite here in Scotland - and so easy to make!

Try coating in our homemade sweet & sour sauce - or dipping into one of our curry sauces!

Serve up with rice, noodles or serve on their own with a tasty dipping sauce!

OR try coating with our salt & chilli seasoning and stir frying with onions and peppers.

Ingredients

  • 1kg chicken breast - chopped into chunks

  • 120g plain flour

  • 2tsp baking powder

  • 1tsp salt

  • 2 eggs

  • 150ml milk

  • 1tbsp oil

Method

  1. Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, add the milk and oil.

  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, mixing well until smooth.

  4. Add the chicken and mix till entirely coated.

  5. Spoon out the chicken piece by piece and add to a deep fat fryer or a large pot of hot oil (shallow frying is also possible for this, but they may turn out flat)

  6. Fry until golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Remove and place on a paper towel to soak up excess grease.
