Recipe
Ingredients:
400g Beef mince
400g Pork Mince
100g Mild Italian Meatball Mix
5 babybels (cut each into 4 pieces) - other cheese can be used, approx 5-10g per meatball.
120ml water (chilled)
400ml chopped tomatoes
1tbsp minced garlic
1tbsp Italian mixed herbs
Method:
Add the mince to a large bowl along with the seasoning and water, mix until fully combined, leave aside to marinate for at least half an hour.
Weigh the mince into 50g portions, wrapping the meat around the chunk of cheese until fully covered, roll into balls.
Cook the meatballs in a pan, browning on all sides.
In a separate pan, add the tomatoes, garlic & mixed herbs, transfer the meatballs to this pan and simmer for approx 10 minutes or until cooked through.
Serve alongside spaghetti or your favourite type of pasta, or pile into a sandwich.
Additional Tips:
The colder the meat and water, the better the appearance and life of the meatball.
Leave meatball in the fridge overnight to allow the herbs and spices to marinade with the meat
Dont forget to use Tongmaster meatball trays to store your meatballs that allow your meatballs to hold their shape.
