Looking for a close alternative to an authentic doner kebab?
Look no further!
This recipe follows our traditional recipe for doner kebab - swapping lamb for meat free mince! We find that quorn mince works great for this.
Make a whole batch of this and use in wraps, salads, flatbreads - you name it!
This can also be frozen before or after cooking.
Ingredients
1kg meat free mince
Method
In a large bowl, combine the mince with the the doner seasoning, add 40ml water and mix well till combined.
Set aside for an hour or two to allow the mixture to soak up the flavour.
Knead the mixture until a paste texture is formed, pack into a loaf tin, or assemble around a kebab spike - this can also be used to make burgers, kofta, etc.
Cook in the oven for 20 minutes, flip and cook for a further 20 minutes.
Leave to rest for 20-30 minutes and slice thinly.
Alternatively, this can be made in the air fryer, shape into a cylinder shape, cover with tinfoil & cook at around 180C for 15 minutes, remove the tinfoil and cook for a further 10 minutes.
